This is a shared blog between two sisters who work in computer science departments at universities.  We started the blog because we both need an outlet for writing about work, politics, life, beauty, and motherhood… but especially work.

Academia is its own weird, special thing, especially in computer science or engineering fields, and we both spend a lot of time thinking, talking, and coping with those issues. Delphinia is an assistant professor of computer science on the east coast; Haloa is a system administrator for a computer science department in the south. “Academic beauty” is our sometimes-sarcastic way of referring to the often funny, frequently exasperating, occasionally poignant, and always ridiculous lives we lead there.

This inevitably involves a certain amount of swearing.
